I think, being pram style, takes away all the faff - they just fold :) I've got the lads from Wilsons of Kinver coming down today to fit my framework and make templates so I'll ask them :)

How do all you lot with pram hoods fit under the bridges? Don't they get caught up or ripped off? Surely it is a real faff putting them up and down all the time? Just wondering.

When cruising you usually leave them down - unless you moor on a broad canal with quite high bridges (like me).

Mine (on a semi-trad) has a total of 6 press studs and 8 rubber bands holding it up, when finished cruising I usually raise it and use all of the fasteners. When cruising I can get away with using a single rubber band (but usually use 2) - except in high winds. If I cruise with ours up I find it better to roll the front window up otherwise its hard to see.

They are definately a faff at first(especially when using the centre line) but you do get used to them. They really come into their own when moored in the marina as you can take off muddy boots or wet coats outside. They are also good if you need to work on the engine etc in bad weather or even hang washing out under them. I also know people who use them for having a fag when its raining (not that I smoke).

I don't think they do anything whatsoever for a boats looks but they are quite practical.

Pretty much our findings with our pram hood. Wouldn't be without one. I can't afford to smoke as I have a boat ;-)
