 ownerships
We have been looking for a boat share for some time now since selling our old one last year. We have just heard of a share (well three actually) in a boat which sounds just what we are looking for but turns out to be an Ownerships managed boat. I just wondered what anyone knows about Ownerships, and if anyone has come across NB Scimitar or her owners? Any info would be gratefully received!

Can't comment on the organisation but I can certainly vouch for the friendliness of the members. At the Ownerships show 7 years ago at Braunston Marina, David Suchet unveiled a plaque dedicated to Lucy and her crew. The first day of the show was pretty much hijacked by a scruffy old boat and we were made most welcome.

 Re: ownerships
Hi
My wife and I have been with Ownerships for 6 odd years aboard Oasis Too and we have really enjoyed it. For the most part things have been ok! However in the last couple of years I feel that the organisation has suffered as a result of its own sucess (the fleet is now over 100 boats). Saying that they did a great Job rescuing Oasis Too when she went walkabout in the floods.
I am currently putting together a private share syndicate for eight as I want more time afloat and more direct involvement with the boat.
I suggest that you go onto Ownerships own Forum look around and ask some questions the members are a very friendly bunch and the forum is in no way constrained by Ownerships so you will get Honest comments to whatever questions you may pose.
Good luck in finding the right share.

Ownerships we site is at: http://www.ownerships.co.uk/I have been a shared owner with Ownerships for over 10 years now and have been extremely satisfied with the set up. I wouls suggest that you look at the web site and visit the discussion forum where you can ask other owners what they think of the scheme and any other questions you like. I am sure you will be able to speak to Scimitar owners but if there are any points I can help you with please let me know, either on this sirte or pm me. Cheers Howard Anguish

 Re: ownerships
We used to be with OS until we bought our own boat! Really happy with them and cannot find fault. If there is any criticism (if you can call it that?) is that the each 'group' of owners can be as different as 2 peas in a pod. Before buying a share try and chat with those who already have a share in the boat you are interested in. Bit of info - the next OS show is not far away - Feb 6th & 7th @ Braunston and this is a really good opportunity to chat with owners and OS Directors and staff. Good luck!

 Re: ownerships
There seems to be some difficulty with Ownerships following the death of Allen Matthews. See http://tiny.cc/buma0Graham

 Re: ownerships
Well, there have been rumours for a while but it is beginning to look extrmely serious. Our thoughts should be with those involved be they boat owners or marina owners. Not a situation any of us would wish to be in.
